I’m in some trouble
By: Tom B | July 6th, 2009First of all, sorry for the hiatus.
I was away for a week, and then I had a week’s uni unit of International Commercial Arbitration, needless to say when you place a semesters work into a week there’s no time for blogging.
So, the day of reckoning arrived, and I sent my team out with the instruction that I expect a win. I realised that Diaz, their largest threat, wasted a lot of the ball, so I set him to never close down. This worked well. The rest of the match however…
So the match starts, with my three centre halves, everyone is fired up (which is nice) and I’m thinking that pressing for a win isn’t out of the question.
BANG
Three minutes in, Bleda (one of my 3 centre halves) commits an unneccesary foul in the box, Penalty. Converted. 1-0 Down.
What follows is 86 minutes of the most inept football I have witnessed. We mustered a grand total of 0 shots on target, didn’t create a chance, let them in behind time and time again.
I’m quite upset at this, and gave them a real blast after the game.
I don’t know what else I can do with this mob. Any suggestions would be more than welcome.
Whats worse is the board aren’t happy with me either, so I might be losing my job if I don’t manage a win soon.
Sorry about the vanilla style of this blog. I’m just at my wits end having witnessed that weak, weak performance. That’s 2 games where one stupid defensive (or goalkeeping) error has cost me 2 points. Given I’ve amassed a grand total of 3 points this is significant.
Will be back tomorrow with, hopefully, some redemption.
